Abstract
An evaluation of the senior clerkship in general surgery at the Yonsei University Medical College has been made using a feedback system to the teaching staff through student "critical incidence" reports. The reports have been classified into "effective" and "ineffective" learning experience on the wards, in the operating rooms, and in the formal teaching sessions. These comments have been discussed. On the basis of the comments the resultant and proposed changes in the clerkship have been presented. The study has led to a departmental review of the objectives of the senior surgical clerkship, and to a better faculty understanding of the need for adjustments in the program.
